The phone is dead. And itโ€™s ringing.

Director Scott Derrickson returns to his terror roots and partners again with the foremost brand in the genre, Blumhouse, with a new horror thriller.
Finney Shaw, a shy but clever 13-year-old boy, is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killerโ€™s previous victims. And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesnโ€™t happen to Finney.
Starring four-time Oscarยฎ nominee Ethan Hawke in the most terrifying role of his career and introducing Mason Thames in his first ever film role, The Black Phone is produced, directed, and co-written by Scott Derrickson, the writer-director of Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Marvelโ€™s Doctor Strange.

The filmโ€™s screenplay is by Derrickson & C. Robert Cargill (Doctor Strange, Sinister franchise), based on the award-winning short story by Joe Hill from his New York Times bestseller 20th Century Ghosts. The film is produced by Derrickson & Cargillโ€™s Crooked Highway and presented by Universal and Blumhouse. Jason Blum, Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill are producers on the film, which is executive produced by Ryan Turek and Christopher H. Warner.

  1. Iโ€™m gonna guess what this movie is about, a kid gets abducted and the spirits of recent kids that were victims talk with him through the phone to help him escape.

  2. I see this preview as Ethan Hawk being an antagonistic character towards children to prepare them for the worst that is seeming will come. As an actor it must have been hard for him to seem like such a jerk.

  3. Also I watch this preview so that I will not have to be startled by it out in public if it were to suddenly creep up from someone else's car or on some television or radio somewhere!

  4. This is a very sad movie. How can anyone hurt and kill a child? Blame it on a mental disorder or other factors but the fact is that you would have to be a real evil person to hurt a child. To think that there are people like that and are free and haven't bee caught. I wish they could have this super hyped emotional moment where they could feel the pain and fear of their victims to where it paralyzes them. Anyone that hurts a child does not deserve to live. They are just evil. ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก Evil pieces of ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ’ฉ.

  5. Loved the music story and ending scene horror type movie๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ

  6. Great movie! I didnโ€™t watch the trailer til after the movie ๐Ÿ˜‚. If havenโ€™t seen the movie dont watch the trailer just watch the movie. Great suspense & thrill ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
