In 1818, the family began to experience disturbances on their property. At first, slight, unexplained noises, but the spirit began to grow, becoming aggressive and singling out the father, John, and his only daughter Betsy. The family desperately searched for the cause of the spirit in the hope of finding a way of defeating it, but the spirit continued its brutal assault. It developed voices and began speaking to the family, but refusing to say why it was there. Then, finally it pronounced a death sentence on John. Within a year, he was dead. Shortly, thereafter, the spirit left the family in peace, but never the same. It would not be until years later that we would be taken back to the terrible night the spirit was born and find out the horrific truth about its nature and origin…

Typically weary of movies like this, so much rubbish out there. But watching it a bit and saw Donald Sutherland and Sissy Spacek in it, and then saw it was about the Bell Witch of Tennessee.. okay, I'm sold!
Edit: was a pretty good movie, though this was the first time I've heard of incest being part of the story. Still worth a watch!
I saw this movie for the first time when I was ten and afterwards we went on the website about the real story this movie is based on and the website wouldnโt let us out until we said please. It freaked me out but it worked normally when I revisited it years later, lol.
Excellent @ Will watch again. All leads were great. Nice to see James D'Arcy again Thanks for uploading. A fan from NYC. โคโค

Hey, crystalrumisel1832, listen, I can't really reply to what you said, "yeah", I hear you girlfriend. First off, you were 7yrs. Old, second, it went on for a year before he had no more accecc! Cut! Right! Then and there after the 1st time at 7 it should have been put to a stop. So, I feel no sympathy cause if he was able to go on w/his way w/you it's your fault. I would have never let it go on after the 1st attack!!!,. From a Bronx New Yorker!!!!
A truly scary American film!
Mothers never want to know, it seems.
Idk. I'm trying to watch it, but the efx feels comedic. It's almost like Scary Movie. A satire vibe, lol
I was abused as a child and I've learn to forgive the one who did it by accepting Jesus into my life as my lord and savior. Only threw him was I able to and he can do the same for others!

*The Anatomy of a Good Movie*
Movies, as a form of art and entertainment, have the remarkable ability to captivate audiences, evoke emotions, and leave a lasting impression. While personal tastes may vary, there are certain qualities that contribute to the greatness of a film. A good movie is more than just a sequence of moving images; it is a carefully crafted work of storytelling, cinematography, and performance that resonates with its audience on multiple levels.
First and foremost, a good movie has a compelling narrative. Whether it's a gripping thriller, an epic adventure, or a heartfelt drama, the story serves as the foundation upon which everything else is built. A well-written screenplay keeps viewers engaged from beginning to end, with well-developed characters, intriguing plot twists, and meaningful themes that provoke thought and discussion.
In addition to a strong story, the visual elements of a movie are equally important. Cinematography plays a crucial role in creating the mood and atmosphere of a film, using lighting, framing, and camera movement to enhance the storytelling. From sweeping landscapes to intimate close-ups, every shot is carefully composed to evoke emotion and convey meaning.
Moreover, a good movie is brought to life by talented actors who embody their characters with authenticity and depth. A convincing performance can elevate even the most ordinary of scenes, drawing viewers into the world of the film and making them care about the fate of its protagonists. Whether it's a seasoned veteran or a newcomer making their debut, the actors' dedication to their craft shines through, leaving a lasting impression on audiences.
Furthermore, the audio aspects of a film, including the score and sound design, contribute significantly to its impact. A memorable soundtrack sets the tone for key moments, heightening tension, stirring emotions, or providing moments of levity. Meanwhile, meticulous sound design immerses viewers in the world of the film, whether it's the roar of an explosion, the whisper of wind through trees, or the subtle rustle of clothing.
Lastly, a good movie leaves a lasting impression, lingering in the minds of its audience long after the credits have rolled. Whether it's a thought-provoking message, a breathtaking visual spectacle, or a poignant emotional moment, the best films stay with us, shaping our perceptions and enriching our lives in ways both big and small.
In conclusion, a good movie is a multi-faceted work of art that excels in storytelling, cinematography, performance, and audio design. It engages audiences on an emotional and intellectual level, leaving a lasting impact that transcends the boundaries of time and space. From the classics of Hollywood's golden age to the latest blockbusters of today, the power of cinema to entertain, inspire, and move us remains as potent as ever.

The Bible says "It would be better that a millstone be hung around your neck and thrown into the sea than to harm one of My little ones." The Bible has NEVER been proven wrong….always right.
