Red Riding Hood (2011)

Venturing from vampires to the world of werewolves, Catherine Hardwicke, the acclaimed independent director of the original Twilight tackles a Gothic reimagining of the Little Red Riding Hood fairytale. Originally published by the Brothers Grimm in the 19th century, this medieval-set adaptation centers on a teenaged girl (Big Love’s Amanda Seyfried) who finds herself in deathly straits when her village sets out to hunt the werewolf that terrorizes it every full moon. A pet project of producer Leonardo DiCaprio, the romantic thriller, adapted by David Leslie Johnson (Orphan), features a teenage love triangle, a setting both sexy and scary, and a stellar cast that includes The Dark Knight’s Gary Oldman, Inception’s Lukas Haas, Jericho’s Shiloh Fernandez, Oscarยฎ nominee Virginia Madsen (Sideways) and Oscarยฎ winner Julie Christie (Finding Neverland).

  1. Also, Valerie's parents were selfish to the core. Her mother was a gold digging harlot who used her daughter to try and get iur of poverty and committed adultery for money and convinced herself she was in love with a man out of her league. And and her father was a possessive mutt with control issues and had the audacity to take his frustrations out on his eldest daughter and kill her, rather than execute his cheating wife; scratching her as payback (Yeah right), while Lucy for some reason had to die. Even though she wasn't his biologically, he raised her and loved her. His own wife took him for granted even towards his final day alive because she wanted a rich life so much, yet he leaves her alive and kills his innocent daughter? How does that work?

  2. Any women that demands her daughter marry for money rather than love is a greedy worthless bitch! I lost the love of my life because of such a woman. My love is now married to a short fat bald swinger that trades her like a chunk of meat. I guess the fact she stayed for that should tell me her mother did me a favor. But no!

  3. I love this movie. It's a great adaptation of this old fairytale. I love the way they keep you wondering whom it is. Although once you have seen it and you rewatch it, it takes the mystery out of it. But none the less, it is a great movie and with watching over many times. I love Amanda she is a great young actress and I gave always been a fan of Virginia who played Amanda's mother. A fantastic actress in everything she has ever done. I has already seen it now I am waiting for part two. Life after the wolf and her grownup.

  4. I saw this in the theaters. Not what I'd expect from a Red Riding story and I know some people give it bad reviews but I really enjoy it.
However, it is very obvious that the director who did Twilight also directed this movie.
