I prefer the Japanese version from 1998 more same with The Grudge, Dark Water and One Missed Call and of course any of the sequels as well. The original Japanese versions are just better to me I'll still watch the remakes.

This was the first horror movie that I remember watching when I was younger. Or at least the first that genuinely impacted me. I lost sleep, kept looking over and the TV. Even unplugged it and covered it with a blanket.
Now in my mid 30s horror doesn't scare me anymore, I guess that is how it goes. But I still remember the fear this movie inspired in my younger self.
These are probably the best movie remakes ever made and don’t even get me started on the awesome soundtracks

I've watched this movie first when it first came out and have watched it over and over again over the years and it's still just as enjoyable as the first time, even knowing how it ends. It's horror movies like this that proves you don't need a bunch of gore to be scary! Now I am going to watch the Ring 2, which is also available here on YouTube!

I generally love slasher movies such as Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but this one really creeps me out. I love it but it scares the crap out of me.
I refused to watch this movie for a long time because I thought it was going to be really stupid! Well, when I finally did watch, I was very pleasantly surprised! Very good horror/ghost movie and certainly not your run-of-the-mill plot! Wonderfully disturbing!
Great American remake
OH MY GOD!!!!!! Of course I heard about this movie back in the day. I never watched it thinking it was a stupid movie about some girl climbing out of a well causing chaos to those who watched some silly video. OK OK…I was WRONG. 🤬 I don't get scared or upset over thrillers or horror movies but this one kept me totally enthralled and on the edge of my seat.🪑 This one is a winner, straight up!!! Now, I'm gonna watch "Ring 2" hoping it's at least just as good but wanting it to be even better. Thanks YouTube for bringing this classic to the masses who missed it the first time around!!! 💜🐼
A lot of so-so horror films out there, but this one works for me. I would like to see the original. I hear it is good as well.
Anyone else find the main character Rachel a horrible mom, has a self-destructive personality, and is generally a bad reporter? She wrecks and abuses primary evidence/files/etc, is unlikabley (and unjustifiably) arrogant, but worst of all the language and treatment she gives her son is utterly messing the kid up. He's more of an adult than she is 99% of the time. It's lame how we portray adults acting worse than kids/teens – but maybe that's how people are these days.
