Yes, you read that right. Only a few weeks since we saw the first trailer for 28 Years Later and a sequel has been announced. Not only that, a release date of January 16, 2026 has been projected as well.
Obviously, Columbia Pictures has high hopes for the current offering and is taking no time between movies to green light another one. In today’s Hollywood, the financial risks are high, but filmmakers always want another piece of the $$$ pie.
Producer Danny Boyle has tasked Nia DaCosta for The Bone Temple and Alex Garland will be providing the screenplay. Garland wrote the first and third films, so here’s hoping much success for his 3rd which opens June 20, 2025.
Cillian Murphy will add his contribution to “The Bone Temple” project as executive producer.
