Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant

Welcome to the Cirque Du Freak, a traveling sideshow filled with magical creatures, misunderstood freaks, and the mysterious vampire, Larten Crepsley (John C. Reilly). Drawn to the dark, unpredictable world of the Cirque, 16-year-old Darren (Chris Massoglia) decides to trade in his ordinary life for a chance to become an immortal vampire. As Darren explores his newfound powers and faces unexpected enemies, he’ll find that his existence as a member of the undead is filled with more challenges, suspense and fun than he ever thought possible. Based on the best-selling book series and co-starring Salma Hayek, Ken Watanabe, and Willem Dafoe, it’s a fast-paced, suspenseful journey critics call, “Imaginative!” (Peter Hall, Cinematical.com)

  1. I loved the books can't count how many times i read them but ngl never liked the ending for them tho they should just make a anime of the books cuz clearly live action isn't working the movie is ok at best lol

  2. After reading the comments, I'm glad I watched this before reading the book. Of course, I dont ever think a movie is going to be exactly like the book(s) anyway. I guess my point is, without going into this with bias, (an expectation that this will be like the book), I actually enjoyed the movie.

  3. I enjoyed this movie for them putting it all into one. Yet, i still believe this story deserved to be a lot longer than what we got. We missed out on vampire mountain twice, both trips to the tunnels, and DesTiny's waistland.

  4. Amazing, several of the leading Actor's are still available. I wonder why these books were not made into Films.
There's nothing quite like this. It's fresh, fast, with lots of action,…
Yes, the books are worth reading.

  5. I am a retired high school English teacher. I've seen the series in mostly middle schools, but never read any… Harry Potter series either. I've never seen or endured a Harry Potter film, but based on this film I'd enthusiastically recommend the Freaks franchise to any voracious verbal freex. I know the actors from other awesome works… this is included. Bra-f#$%ing-O dude!

  6. Bums me out that I never saw this, but also, like, remember the commercial vividly like "oh yeah that just came out while back" … In 2009 x.x

PS; bums me out even more that I really enjoyed this, and it's all we got.

  7. I remember I used to obsess over the manga version of this and developed a HUUUUUUGE crush on Mr. Crepsley.

I did NOT develop a crush on the movie version of it now that I'm rewatching this but I never knew Josh Hutcherson was on it. If I knew what I know now, I would have …. whistled.
