The first trailer for Monster Hunter, which is based on the video game and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil), is here and it looks like they’ve gone all out!
Milla Jovovich plays Artemis, who is transported to another dimension together with her squad after getting caught in a horrific sandstorm. They quickly discover that the enormous monsters inhabiting this new landscape are resistant to their human weapons. The crew meets a man (Tony Jaa) known simply as the Hunter while trying to find their way home. His particular abilities enable him to stay one step ahead of the beasts, but is this sufficient?
The film stars Jovovich, Jaa, Ron Perlman (Hellboy), T.I. Harris (Ant-Man), Meagan Good (The Unborn), and Diego Boneta (Terminator: Dark Fate).
Monster Hunter is a role-playing game that first launched on the PlayStation 2 in 2004 and quickly became a sensation, spawning a whole franchise. Monster Hunter Rise, the next installment, will be released on Nintendo Switch in March 2021.
Monster Hunter is planned to hit theaters on December 30, 2020, and we’re crossing our fingers that it won’t be pushed back like so many other films this year. Take a look at the trailer below and leave your thoughts in the comments.
