Lee Cronin’s ‘The Mummy’ Coming to Theaters in Spring 2026

Fresh off Lee Cronin’s directing success of Evil Dead Rise, comes the announcement he will be directing a reboot and re-imagining of The Mummy.

Press releases say the film is slated for April 17, 2026. That seems to be a bit of an odd strategy for a horror film to open closer to Easter than Halloween, but there may just be a method to their madness. Time will tell.

Blumhouse has been a bit down on their luck lately, but partnering with Atomic Monster under the guidance of James Wan just might get them back on the right track.

Cronin who is also writing the screenplay, says that this Mummy will be like nothing anyone has ever seen before. It will be much darker, more evil, ancient and terrifying.

More to come as news about The Mummy “Unwraps”.
